CRATE TRAINING OUR AGILITY DOGS
We all know the advantages of crate training our dogs. Vet and groomer visits, holiday company, home maintenance, injury recovery etc. But how is the crate beneficial and crucial to our agility dogs specifically?
Our agility dogs need a calm place to rest in between agility runs in the trial environment. They can run their best if they come to the start line after a decompressing rest in a calm place of their own, that the crate provides. We are also able to take time to rest and walk/study the upcoming course with a calm resting dog.
Traditional methods of allowing our dog to “cry it out” or worse, create a cue for distress. Other programs create cues for excitement and arousal. Crate Training Our Agility Dogs creates the cue for relaxation.

The session of four classes costs $150.

CRITICAL SKILLS FOR FUTURE AGILITY STARS
This course is different than most agility foundation classes. Rather than introducing obstacle and flatwork skills needed to run an agility course, this class lays out the critical skills that your dog needs for productive learning in agility classes. We will give your future agility star the resources and strengths to help create focus in the unique environment surrounding the sport of agility. Without these skills dogs can become frustrated, anxious, fearful, over aroused or any number of other undesirable behaviors that will compromise learning. While this class is specifically designed for the high-energy environment of agility, your dog can benefit from learning these skills for any dog sport.

We’ll work the start line stay from the ground up until we get to a stuck-like-glue stay!
