PUPPY TRAINING – Off Leash Puppy Socialization & Training
The three most important skills we will work on in puppy class:
1. Teaching bite inhibition, or gentle jaws – with puppy play sessions and socialization.
2. Teaching puppies to enjoy interacting with and being handled by people, especially children, men and strangers, and therefore safe – hence the people-dog socialization.
3. To teach reliable off-leash obedience, so that the puppies promptly and willing respond to verbal commands even when distracted with short training interludes integrated into puppy play sessions.
Playing-with-other-dogs will be used over and over as a reward for training, rather than becoming a distraction that works against training.
Puppy classes are fun for the entire family!
Prerequisite: Puppies up to 4 months. This class meets the requirements for the AKC STAR Puppy Program.
6-1 hour sessions @ $215.

BASIC MANNERS
In this class we start working on our dog’s basic obedience skills that are required to become well-mannered and polite in public. The dogs will work in a group with other dogs and learn to keep their focus on their handlers. Skills: • Sit & Down • Come & Collar Grab • Off-Leash Heel • Basic Stay • Confidence Course • Name Game • Comfort Around Food Bowl • Meeting Strangers • Body Handling.
Prerequisite: Puppies/dogs 4+ months of age. This class meets the requirements for the AKC STAR Puppy Program, for dogs under 1 year.
6-1 hour sessions @ $215.

INTERMEDIATE MANNERS
In this class dogs and handlers learn more advanced obedience and focus exercises with distractions. Skills: Wait at the Door • Come & Leashing-Up Manners • Loose-Leash Walking & Attention • Meet & Greet • Leave It • Wait for the Food Bowl • Stay • Settle • Give & Take.
Prerequisite: Graduation from Basic Manners. Basic and Intermediate Manners combined are an AKC CGC Prep class.

ADVANCED MANNERS
Calmly Pass by Other Dogs • Wait at the Door with Distraction • Come & Leashing-Up Manners with Distraction • Sit, Down & Stand • Body Handling • Loose-Leash Walking & Leave It (Figure 8 Configuration) • Stay with Distraction & Distance • Out of Sight, Out of Mind.
Prerequisite: Graduation from Intermediate Mannersl is required. Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Manners combined are an AKC CGC-A Prep class.
